Travel Policy Update

On Apr. 2, the CDC updated its guidance on domestic and international travel for fully vaccinated individuals. Learn more about travel considerations, as well as how to book through the UC San Diego travel system Concur, on the Resources for University Travelers page.

COVID-19 Testing Options

On-site students and campus employees may fulfill required COVID-19 testing through self-administered kits retrieved from campus vending machines (no appointment needed); provider-observed self-administered testing at Price Center (appointment needed); or provider-administered testing via drive thru (appointment needed). Those completing their first-ever test must make an appointment. Future tests can then be conducted by visiting vending machines—which will soon require you to scan your campus ID card.

UC San Diego Vaccination

Employees who have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to do so while vaccine supply and appointments are plentiful. Vaccination appointments are available for all UC San Diego employees on campus at RIMAC, which can be scheduled directly by employees. To schedule your appointment, click “Register and check my eligibility” on California’s My Turn website and follow the prompts to schedule your appointment at RIMAC.

Campus Repopulation

Plans for an incremental repopulation of the campus has commenced, with the intent to return to full campus operations by the start of the fall quarter. These plans are being created in strict compliance with public health guidelines and with a commitment to keeping our campus community safe and healthy. We are exploring strategies to promote greater work-life balance, with equity at the forefront.

Testing and Screening

All who are living, working and attending classes on campus are required to complete a daily symptom and exposure screening; those who report symptoms will be offered a test promptly. Student and employee asymptomatic testing for COVID-19 is offered on a weekly basis at no cost through UC San Diego Health.

Campus Safety

Public health is a collective effort. The entire campus community is expected to follow campus safety requirements to help prevent infection. Please review UC San Diego’s safety guidelines, including wearing face coverings, completing the daily symptom and exposure screening and maintaining physical distance.
