Announcement: COVID-19 Vaccine Prioritization

Learn more about the implementation of the plan to vaccinate our frontline health care workers (Phase 1A) and the plan in development to vaccinate essential campus workers (Phase 1B). COVID-19 Testing Options

Students and campus employees have several options to fulfill required COVID-19 testing, including self-administered tests—picking up a testing kit on campus and returning the sample within 72 hours of pick up (no appointment needed); or drive-up/walk-through provider-administered testing (appointment needed). For self-administered testing, you must have your Active Directory (AD) credentials and the most updated version of the UC San Diego app on your smartphone or mobile device when you arrive.

Winter 2021 Plan

Winter quarter courses are offered remotely as well as taught in-person in outdoor classrooms. On-site students (including residents) and employees are expected to conduct a symptom and exposure screening daily and participate in no-cost asymptomatic testing weekly. On-campus undergraduate housing will remain at single occupancy for winter quarter. For the majority of campus staff employees who are currently working remotely, they will continue to do so at least through May 31, 2021.

Testing and Screening

All who are living, working and attending classes on campus are required to complete a daily symptom and exposure screening; those who report symptoms will be offered a test promptly. Student and employee asymptomatic testing for COVID-19 is offered on a weekly basis at no cost through UC San Diego Health.
