Information for Visitors

The UC San Diego campus is operating with new safety protocols, which have been established in alignment with county and state guidelines to help protect the wellbeing of our campus community.

Please refrain from entering campus grounds or buildings unless you have a university or business-related need requiring you to do so. Nonessential visitors will have limited access to the campus. We are implementing measures to significantly reduce density on campus to provide a safer learning environment for our students. We thank you for understanding.

Do not come to campus if:

  • You are experiencing or have had COVID-19 symptoms within the past 14 days. See associated symptoms on the CDC website.
  • If you believe you may have been in recent contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

Required protocols for on-campus special non-affiliates:

These protocols apply to employees at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Ludwig Institute, Sanford Consortium and others, as well as on-campus contractors and vendors at Price Center, Target and other locations.

  1. Complete a daily symptom and exposure screening (can be through your own employer)
  2. Participate in COVID-19 testing at the same frequency as campus employees working on campus, currently required on a weekly basis
  3. Adhere to all campus COVID-19 safety requirements
Note: It is highly recommended that on-campus special non-affiliates enable CA Notify technology on their mobile devices.

Required protocols for on-campus construction contractors and contracted service providers:

Employees of organizations such as EDCO, Fed-Ex and other service providers are required to meet all campus COVID-19 protocols:
