Testing and Screening

UC San Diego offers an ongoing testing program for all University community members. Tests can be completed at no cost to employees and students through UC San Diego Health and Student Health Services.

Asymptomatic employees and students who are not fully vaccinated must test twice a week (every 3 to 5 days). Fully remote employees and students who are not fully vaccinated are encouraged to test weekly, although if they come to campus for any reason they are required to test within 72 hours of arrival and on the day of arrival. Fully vaccinated students and employees are not required to test but are encouraged to do so as needed or if symptoms arise.

Daily screening requirements remain in effect for all employees and students who are studying, working and living on campus. Along with our continued wastewater testing, daily screening alerts the university to changes in the public health of our campus community.
